With the holidays approaching and a new year on the horizon I'm sure many people will be experiencing the lack of functionality in their kitchens and yearning for a change.
If you are watching TV chefs effortlessly whip up a Christmas banquet while you struggle to make a meal for two without crashing into each other and leaving the kitchen like a bomb site then maybe a bit of planning is in order.
Apart from a team of home economists behind the scenes do the TV kitchens have something you need? Is the oven at elbow height so that checking on the turkey doesn't involve stooping and getting a face-full of steam? Is the hob a super-fast induction one that cooks the sprouts in the same time your old hob warms the water?
Perhaps you can't quite put your finger on what it is in your kitchen that makes cooking such a chore. At Waterford Interiors we love planning a kitchen to perfection. Generally we plan out in 2D cad as that is the best way to see a space but if you can't visualise the end result we are happy to help in other ways.
The image below shows the metamorphosis of a recent design.
The client initially wanted a range cooker and an island but wasn't sure how the space would work. After several changes, including lowering the ceiling to hide beams the final design has built in ovens which allow more oh-so-useful pan drawers under the hob. We produced all the designs in 3D renders so the client could see the kitchen from every angle and even play around with the colour a bit too!
As well as our planning service our bespoke, built to order cabinets will suit your needs exactly from adapting the size to fit the space to choosing the function that works best. We have a range of pull-out units with adjustable shelving so that you favourite oils and spices can be exactly where you need them. We also have a range of prices so that even if a huge walnut kitchen is not within budget we can design a stunning kitchen that is.
